About Us

Welcome to the heart behind the treasures—this is Treasure Trove Antiques, where history comes alive through fine objects and enduring stories. I’m Vicky Pelton, owner and curator, and it is my passion to discover, preserve, and share antiques that evoke craftsmanship, elegance, and memories.

My Story

Growing up, I was surrounded by family heirlooms, old books, weathered furniture, and the kinds of objects that whispered stories of earlier times. I began collecting small pieces—china, photographs, wooden boxes—and over the years, as my collection grew, so did my understanding and love of antiques: not just as “pretty things,” but as carriers of culture and history. In founding Treasure Trove Antiques here in Potosi, Michigan, I wanted to offer more than a retail shop. I wanted a place where people could come to touch history, to learn, to discover—and perhaps to take home something with soul.

Our Mission & Values

  • Preservation – We believe in caring for antiques: preserving condition, respecting originality, and when necessary, dealing with restoration thoughtfully.
  • Authenticity – We value genuine items. Every piece is researched for its provenance, materials, and age so customers can purchase with confidence.
  • Education – Whether you are an experienced collector or just beginning, we enjoy sharing knowledge. How to date furniture, what to look for in silver marks, how pieces reflect the design of their era—these are part of what we love to discuss.
  • Community – Treasure Trove Antiques is part of Potosi’s heritage. We support local artists, collaborate with regional events, and welcome visitors as part of our growing community of lovers of history.

Our Approach

We travel throughout Michigan and neighboring states, attending estate sales, auctions, and private collections, always seeking unique pieces that meet our standards. Items are selected for their design, durability, story, and condition. Inside our shop, pieces are displayed in ways that help you imagine them in your own home—mixed with warmth, style, and respect for their history. When you shop here, you’re not only buying an object—you’re connecting with the past. You’re preserving legacy. You’re giving something old the chance to live on and bring joy again.
